Conclusions On Mailing List
- PFIF are still not mature enough but a good basis for evolution
- SFIF is specification is elusive and does not seem to be discussed much on the web
- EDXL is too tightly integrated to US Gov specific requirements however it is the only real formalized standard (OASIS)
- CAP seems to be getting the most acceptance so far
- vCard is an established standard and is supported by most mobile phones. However it does not have all the elements required for disaster victims. I can possibly be used as a envelope for these additional fields.
- Other data exchange standards requirements include, inventory, damage assessment, situation awareness, etc for which we need to find appropriate standards
