Target Audience + Roles

The expected target audience for this module is Sarvodaya and Sahana LSF team.

The typical roles and respective benefits are:

• Sarvodaya - will use the system at their Disaster center and for other projects.

Main Contact : Nuwan T. Waidyanatha

• Sahana team - will benefit by deploying at the largest Local NGO in Sri Lanka. Therefore a good opportunity to obtain domain requirements and to Test.

Started Discussion

Ravindra and Joshep from the Sahana team went to Sarvodaya on 16th Feb 2006. They installed Sahana over there. After Demonstrating Sahana to several decision makers at Sarvodaya , a meeting was arranged between the LSF team and Nuwan.

Nuwan and LSF team had a meeting on 21st Feb 2006. It was a very fruitful discussion. Lot of ways of collaboration were identified.

Objective, Scope

              There's lot of potential from the synergy arising from collaboration
              between Sahana team and Sarvodaya.

Some of them are mentioned below Simulation

       Sarvodaya is going to simulate disaster situations and will 
       test sahana. since the simulation is scheduled for july 2006
       we need to have all the modules ready (customized) by May 2006.
       Modules that will be tested are
               Missing person registry
               Organization registry
               Request Management system
               Camp registry

Sahana workshop( 2nd of March)

       Nuwan and several members of the IT staff will attend it.
       on that day , or near to that have a session with them to 
       understand additional data they want to capture ,changes to 
       interfaces ,ect

Common Alerting Protocol(CAP)

       Sudheera from LSF team will work with Nuwan to develop a CAP message reader 
       in  PHP

Housing Registry

       Ravindra Ariywickrama from Sarvodaya will liaise with Mifan and Sudheera to finalize 
       requirements

Supply chain module

       work with Sarvodaya to obtain requirements. Jinawardana from 
       University of Moratuwa is working on this with 2 others.

Bio Survaliance

       Nuwan will lead this with Dr. Ariyaratna from Sarvodaya
       Nuwan mentioned a FOSS software from Carnegie Mellon university

GIS

       Nuwan has a GIS unit, he can map some areas in Sri lanka

Sarvodaya Discussion

  Mr. Nuwan, Mr. Ravindra, Mr. Priyanga and Mrs. Niluka participated in the discussion 
  on 22nd of March at Sarvodaya. 
  We met some requirements for customize the softwere as follow.
